Configure Automatic Order Merging

Configure automatic order merging rules so related WooCommerce orders can be combined based on your store workflow.

Applies to 1.7.3+ Stable Verified July 29, 2026

Automatic merging helps when the same customer places multiple orders close together and your team wants to process them as one order.

Open Merging Automation

  1. Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Orders → Automation.
  2. Find the Merging section.
  3. Enable Automatically merge orders placed by the same customer.
  4. Set the Period of time.
  5. Save changes.

How Matching Works

The plugin compares the customer details strictly. Billing email must match, and billing name, phone, and address must match. If shipping details are different from billing, shipping details are also compared.

Which Order Becomes the Main Order

When multiple matching orders are found, the oldest order becomes the main order. Newer matching orders are merged into it.

What Happens to Merged Orders

The merged orders are moved to trash. The main order receives the combined items, shipping lines, fees, totals, and an order note listing the merged order IDs.

Start with 15-30 minutes. A longer window may merge orders that the customer intended to keep separate.

For one-off corrections, use Merge Orders Manually instead of enabling automation immediately.
