Configure Automatic Order Splitting and Rule Builder

Use simple automation for one predictable split mode. Use Rule Builder when conditions such as role, zone, payment, vendor, product metadata, order request state, fulfillment readiness, or inventory location must choose the action.

Open the feature

Go to Orders > Settings > Automation.

Build the automation

1. Choose Simple automation or Rule Builder.
2. Set the delay so payment and checkout metadata finish first.
3. For Rule Builder, order rules by priority and add explicit skip rules where needed.
4. Preview or place a test order that matches one rule.
5. Open Orders > Automation queue and inspect the status and result links.

Use Stock Manager conditions

Version 1.7.3 can use negotiated Stock Manager readiness, location, reservation, available-to-sell, and incoming quantity data. Conditions are hidden for new rules when the companion capability is unavailable, while saved rules remain visible for rolling updates.

Verify the result

• Only the highest-priority matching action runs.
• Retrying a shared job reuses the same idempotency key.
• The queue links to the resulting order family.
