Configure General Order Action Settings

Configure the main WooCommerce Advanced Order Actions settings before using split, merge, duplicate, and automated order workflows.

Applies to 1.7.3+ Stable Verified July 29, 2026

The General section controls when order actions are available and how orders behave after an action runs.

Open General Settings

  1. Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Orders.
  2. Open the General subtab.
  3. Review the Split orders, Duplicate orders, Merge orders, and Advanced sections.

Split Orders Settings

Allowed status decides which orders show the Split order button. If an order status is not selected here, staff cannot split that order.

Original order status controls what happens to the original order after splitting. Keep it unchanged unless your workflow requires a status change.

Split order status controls the new child orders. Use this if split orders should enter a specific workflow, such as Processing or On hold.

Excluded fee keeps shipping fees on the original order and prevents split orders from receiving shipping charges. Leave it off if you want the plugin to copy/recalculate shipping for split orders.

Duplicate and Merge Settings

Set Allowed status for duplication and merging. This prevents staff from changing orders that are already completed, refunded, cancelled, or otherwise locked by your process.

Advanced Settings

Editable orders expands which order statuses allow line item editing. Order labels adds clear labels such as original, split, duplicated, or merged. Permission allows Shop Manager users to access the full order actions.
