Configure Split Order Email Notifications

Set up WooCommerce Advanced Order Actions email notifications for split orders, merged orders, duplicated orders, and customer updates.

Applies to 1.7.3+ Stable Verified July 29, 2026

Notifications help customers understand why one order became multiple orders. Configure them before enabling automation on a live store.

Open Notification Settings

  1. Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Orders.
  2. Open the Notifications subtab.
  3. Review the Split order email section.

Email to Customer

Enable this if customers should receive emails for split orders. If disabled, staff can still split orders, but customers may not be automatically told why new order records exist.

Choose a Sending Mode

Split order only means the customer first receives one normal email showing the original order, then separate emails for split orders.

All orders after split means the customer receives separate emails for each order after the split. There is no initial email showing all items together.

Customize Messages by Split Type

Each split type can have its own subject, heading, and message. Use simple language, for example: “To ship your available items faster, we separated your order into multiple shipments.”

Email to Administrator

Enable this if store admins should receive new-order emails for each split order. Recipients follow WooCommerce email recipient settings for New order emails.

Split emails are most useful after you configure Configure Automatic Order Splitting or train staff on Split an Order Manually.
