Configure Verification and Validation
Set up Blacklist Manager email and phone verification, disposable contact checks, SMS providers, name validation, and whitelist merge.
Verification and validation features help confirm that customer contact details are real before you trust the order or allow checkout to continue. Use them when you want to reduce fake emails, fake phone numbers, disposable contact details, and low-quality orders.

Where to Configure Verification
- Without Premium: go to Blacklist Manager → Verifications.
- With Premium: go to Blacklist Manager → Settings → Verifications.
- SMS provider credentials may be configured under Settings → Integrations, depending on the provider.
When to Use Verification
Use verification when fake contact details are creating bad orders, failed deliveries, spam accounts, or support overhead.
| Problem | Recommended feature |
|---|---|
| Customers use fake or unreachable emails. | Email verification. |
| Delivery depends on a working phone number. | Phone verification. |
| Customers use temporary email or phone details. | Disposable email or disposable phone checks. |
| Checkout receives obviously fake names. | Name validation. |
| Trusted repeat customers should avoid extra checks. | Whitelist merge from completed orders. |
Set Up Email Verification
- Open the Verifications page.
- Enable email verification.
- Review the email subject, heading, and message.
- Keep the verification code placeholder in the message if the editor shows one.
- Save settings.
- Place a test order using an email inbox you can access.
- Confirm the code email arrives and checkout accepts the correct code.
Email verification is usually the safest first verification feature because it does not depend on SMS delivery, phone formatting, or provider balance.
Set Up Phone Verification
- Open the Verifications page.
- Enable phone verification.
- Choose your SMS service. Premium supports services such as Yo Credits, Twilio, and Textmagic depending on your setup.
- Enter the required service credentials under Settings → Integrations if needed.
- Review the SMS message template.
- Save settings.
- Place a test order using a phone number that can receive SMS.
- Confirm checkout accepts the correct code and handles wrong codes clearly.
Country Code Behavior
The plugin normalizes phone numbers using country context. Make sure checkout collects the correct billing country and phone number so verification and blacklist matching can normalize numbers consistently.
If customers order from multiple countries, test phone verification with numbers from your main selling countries before enabling it broadly.
SMS Providers
Premium can work with SMS services such as Yo Credits, Twilio, Textmagic, and other supported providers depending on your version. Configure provider credentials and confirm account balance or credits before enabling phone verification on live checkout.
Failed SMS Notifications
Enable failed SMS notifications if staff need to know when phone verification cannot be delivered. This helps distinguish customer mistakes from provider, quota, formatting, or carrier issues.
Name Validation
Name validation helps reduce fake or low-quality customer names. Use it as a quality signal, not as the only reason to block an order. If your store accepts international names, test carefully before using strict validation.
Disposable Email and Phone Checks
Disposable email and phone checks detect temporary contact details. These checks are useful for stores that see fake accounts, lead spam, or one-time abusive checkout attempts.
For most stores, start by treating disposable checks as a risk signal or suspect action. Use hard blocking only when you are confident legitimate customers are not affected.
Merge Completed Orders to Whitelist
The whitelist merge tool can add contact details from completed orders to the whitelist. Use it when you want trusted repeat customers to avoid unnecessary friction from verification or blacklist checks.
Only merge completed orders if your completed order status reliably means the customer was legitimate.
Important Checks Before Going Live
- Send a test email and confirm it is not going to spam.
- Send a test SMS to your main selling countries.
- Check that checkout continues after a correct code is entered.
- Check the customer-facing message for wrong or expired codes.
- Confirm your SMS provider has enough balance or credits.
- Confirm your email sender/domain is configured correctly.
When Not to Use Phone Verification
Do not enable phone verification immediately on high-volume stores without testing. SMS delivery can depend on country, carrier, formatting, sender rules, and provider balance. Start with email verification, or test phone verification with your own staff first.
Recommended Setup
- Start with email verification if email quality is the main issue.
- Add phone verification only after SMS delivery is tested.
- Enable failed SMS notifications if staff need to review delivery issues.
- Use disposable email/phone checks as a score or suspect signal before hard blocking.
- Use name validation carefully if your customer base is international.
- Merge completed orders to whitelist only after you trust your completed-order workflow.
Expected Result
Customers should receive a code, enter it during checkout, and continue only after successful verification. Store staff should have enough visibility to troubleshoot missing emails, failed SMS delivery, and false positives without guessing.
