The first audit should identify registered sizes, protected sizes, WooCommerce/theme usage, and the scope of the uploads library.
Open the feature
Go to Tools > Thumbnails > Recommendations.
Before you start
- Back up the database and wp-content/uploads.
Recommended workflow
- Install and activate the plugin.
- Run Recommendations.
- Review registered and protected sizes.
- Inspect active/recent jobs and storage estimates.
- Do not save or prune until theme and plugin image use is understood.
What success looks like
- The audit distinguishes registered, metadata-backed legacy, and unmapped disk-only files.
- No file is deleted during Recommendations.
Important notes
- Recommendations are evidence, not an automatic deletion decision.
