Recommended First Setup for WooCommerce Stock Manager

Start with one simple product and one test order before enabling preorder and backorder workflows across a larger catalog.

Recommended Setup Order

1. Confirm the plugin license is active.
2. Set preorder and backorder button text.
3. Enable backorder available dates only if you want customers to see ETA dates for backorder items.
4. Configure admin reminder emails and recipients.
5. Create one preorder product and one backorder product with available dates.
6. Add preorder/backorder shipping methods only after the basic product flow works.
7. Enable customer delivery choices after you test mixed carts.
8. Open Stock Manager > Inventory > Incoming stock and confirm the test products appear.
9. Place a test order and confirm order item snapshots appear in the order editor.

Starter Settings

Use conservative defaults first: custom button text, available dates, admin reminders, and one special shipping method per stock type. Add payment restrictions, customer delivery choices, and auto-splitting after the first checkout test passes.

Testing Checklist

• Simple preorder product shows the expected button text and available date.
• Variation preorder/backorder status is respected after selecting a variation.
• Cart and checkout line items show the correct label and available date.
• Classic checkout and Blocks checkout store the customer delivery choice when enabled.
• Order admin shows preorder/backorder labels and the Extended stock snapshots panel.
• Stock Campaigns shows active campaigns, reserved units, and open order metrics.
• PDF documents show the captured preorder/backorder line item label when the WCPDF integration is active.
