Run Account Maintenance Tools

The Tools section contains maintenance utilities for stores that already have customers before enabling Advanced Accounts Premium features.

Open Tools

1. Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Accounts & Membership.
2. Open the Tools section.

Migrate Usernames to Phone Numbers

This tool converts existing customer usernames to match their billing phone number. It is intended for stores switching to phone-number-based accounts.

Before Running

• Back up your database.
• Run the tool in dry-run mode first.
• Review conflicts before making real changes.
• Process large customer lists in batches.

How to Run Safely

1. Keep Dry-run checked.
2. Choose whether to process only customers.
3. Set a batch limit, such as 200.
4. Click Run tool.
5. Review the preview table.
6. If results look correct, uncheck dry-run and run the same batch.
7. Use Run Next Batch until finished.

The tool can skip users whose username already contains a dash. This helps avoid changing usernames that may already be system-generated or intentionally customized.

Mark Users as Verified

This tool is useful after importing customers or switching from another account system. It can mark existing users as verified for email or phone so they are not unexpectedly forced through verification.

Use dry-run first if the tool offers a preview. For large sites, process users in batches to avoid timeout issues.

Rule: never run account migration tools for the first time on a live store without a recent database backup.
