Scan, Review, and Approve a Prune Manifest
Remove old generated thumbnails through the five-step immutable manifest workflow.

Scanning only builds a hashed manifest. Deletion starts only after an administrator reviews and explicitly approves that exact manifest.
Open the feature
Go to Tools > Thumbnails > Prune Files.
Before you start
- Create a verified uploads backup.
- Choose the registered sizes that must remain.
Recommended workflow
- Select all uploads or explicit year/month folders.
- Choose Scan and review.
- Filter and paginate the manifest; review paths and estimated storage.
- Confirm the reviewed manifest.
- Run resumable deletion and inspect errors.
What success looks like
- Only approved generated files are removed.
- Attachment metadata is updated and original uploads remain.
Important notes
- Unmapped disk-only filename matches are reported and skipped by default.
