Send Availability Delay Notices to Preorder and Backorder Customers
Notify affected customers when a preorder or backorder available date moves later than the date captured at checkout.
Availability delay notices are useful when a product ETA moves later after customers already placed preorder or backorder orders.
When a Delay Notice Is Due
The plugin compares the current product available date with the checkout-time available date saved on each order item. A notice is due when the current date is later than the saved checkout date and a notice has not already been sent for that new date.
Send Delay Notices
- Go to Stock Manager > Inventory > Incoming stock.
- Filter by Delay notices due if needed.
- Find the affected preorder or backorder campaign.
- Click Notify delay.
- Confirm the admin notice shows how many emails were sent and skipped.
What Customers Receive
Customers receive an availability update email for the affected order. The email includes the product, previous available date, and new available date.
What Staff Can Verify
- The order receives a note that a delay notice was sent.
- The line item stores the delay notice date to avoid duplicate notices for the same new ETA.
- The campaign pending notice count drops after successful sends.
