Set Up Membership Roles

Advanced Accounts Premium uses WordPress user roles as membership levels. A customer becomes a member when they receive one of the selected membership roles.

Open Membership Settings

1. Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Accounts & Membership.
2. Open the Membership section.

Create or Choose Membership Roles

Use existing roles or create new roles for membership levels. Example roles might be Silver Member, Gold Member, or Wholesale Customer.

1. Click Add new / Remove if you need to manage roles.
2. Return to the Membership section.
3. In Set membership roles, select the roles that should behave as membership levels.
4. Save changes.

If no roles are selected, the membership feature is effectively disabled.

Edit a Membership Role

After saving selected roles, the Membership rules table shows each role, its slug, shortcode example, and an Edit button.

1. Click Edit for the role.
2. Choose the products or subscriptions that grant the role.
3. Choose the membership duration.
4. Add content rules, product access rules, and discount rules if needed.
5. Save the role settings.

Allow Multiple Memberships

Enable Multiple membership if one customer should be able to hold more than one membership role at the same time.

Leave it disabled if your memberships are tiers where one level should replace another, such as Bronze, Silver, and Gold.

Choose a Membership Products Page

The Membership products page is where customers can browse products or subscriptions that grant memberships. The plugin creates or uses this page to show available membership offers.

Set this page before using restricted content messages, because restricted product and content notices can link customers to it.

After creating membership roles, connect them to Sell Membership Products and Set Duration, Restrict Content and Products by Membership, and Set Up Membership Discounts.
