Set Up Redeem Products With Points

Redeem products lets customers add selected simple products to the cart as point-redemption items. The product price is set to zero in the cart, and the configured points are deducted from the customer balance when checkout creates the order.

Enable Redeem Products

1. Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Loyalty > General.
2. Enable Redeem products.
3. Save changes.
4. Confirm your loyalty levels are configured before assigning product costs.

Configure A Redeemable Product

1. Go to Products and edit a simple product.
2. Open Product data > Loyalty.
3. Under Redeem product, enter the number of points required for each loyalty level.
4. Leave a level blank when that level should not be able to redeem the product.
5. Make sure the product is published, purchasable, and in stock.
6. Update the product.

Customer Experience

• On the product page, eligible logged-in customers see a Use points button with the point cost per item.
• The button appears only when the customer has enough available points for at least one item.
• In the cart, the item price is set to zero and the cart item shows a Redeem cost line.
• If the customer changes quantity, the plugin checks the total points needed for the updated quantity.
• At checkout, the plugin deducts the total product redemption points and logs the action as points_redeem_product.

Important Limits

• Product redemption is for simple products.
• The product page redeem button requires a logged-in customer.
• The customer must have enough current points for all redeem-product cart items.
• Redeem-product point costs are separate from cart discount coupon redemption rules.
• If you need a reward catalog page, use the redeem products shortcode.

Testing Checklist

1. Assign a point cost to one simple product for a test loyalty level.
2. Log in as a customer in that level with enough points.
3. Open the product page and click the redeem button.
4. Increase the quantity in the cart and confirm insufficient-point validation appears when expected.
5. Complete checkout and verify the order item, points history, and customer balance.
