Split an Order Manually
Split a WooCommerce order manually into separate orders, choose the items to move, and review the result before notifying customers.
Manual splitting is the best way to learn the plugin. It lets staff review the order before creating new orders.
Before You Start
- The order must use a status allowed in WooCommerce → Settings → Orders → General → Split orders → Allowed status.
- The order must have at least two parent line items, or one item with quantity greater than one.
- Your user must be an Administrator, or a Shop Manager with permission enabled.
Open the Split Tool
- Go to WooCommerce → Orders.
- Open the order you want to split.
- Scroll to the order items area.
- Click Split order.

Choose a Split Method
The split popup can offer methods such as unit, group, category, stock status, tag, attribute, vendor, or bundle depending on your settings and active plugins.
If you only need to move specific quantities, use the default/manual split table and enter the quantity that should move to a new order.
Check the Result
After splitting, the plugin creates one or more new orders and adds order notes that link the original and split orders. Review totals, shipping, customer email behavior, and order labels before processing shipment.
When Not to Split Manually
Do not split an order that is already fulfilled, refunded, or handled by another integration unless your staff understands the accounting and shipping impact.
If you split orders repeatedly using the same product logic, set up Use Product Groups, Tags, and Attributes for Splitting and then consider Configure Automatic Order Splitting.
