Troubleshoot Tax Invoice Requests, PDFs, and Emails

Work through eligibility, authorization, generation, storage, and mail delivery in that order.

Open the feature

Go to WooCommerce > Orders > Edit order > Tax Invoice.

Before you start

• Record the order ID, customer/guest state, order status, and error text.

Recommended workflow

1. Check the plugin is enabled and the order is eligible.
2. Verify customer ownership or the guest order key.
3. Review uploads permissions and regenerate the PDF.
4. Check WooCommerce email enablement and the site mail log.
5. Inspect the configured next number only after checking issued invoices.

What success looks like

• The order metabox identifies the stored state and available admin actions.
• Unauthorized download attempts remain blocked.

Important notes

• Never expose invoice files through a public uploads URL without the plugin permission check.
