Troubleshooting: Automation Did Not Run
Troubleshoot WooCommerce Advanced Order Actions automation rules that do not run or do not produce the expected order result.
Automatic splitting and merging use WP-Cron. If automation does not run, check both plugin settings and your site cron health.
Check Automation Is Enabled
Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Orders → Automation. Confirm that splitting or merging automation is enabled and saved.
Check the Selected Mode
For splitting, the automation mode must match the order data. For example, tag splitting needs product tags selected in General settings and assigned to products.
Check the Delay Timer
Wait for the delay timer plus extra time. If your site has low traffic, WP-Cron may not trigger immediately.
Check Allowed Statuses
Automation still depends on allowed statuses and plugin logic. If an order status is excluded, the action may be skipped.
Check WP-Cron
If the site is a staging site or has very low traffic, open a few admin/frontend pages or configure a real server cron for WordPress.
Check Order Notes
Review the original order notes. Successful split/merge actions usually add notes showing which order IDs were created or merged.
