Troubleshooting: Requests Are Not Submitting
Troubleshoot cancellation or return requests that are not submitting, saving, or reaching the WooCommerce admin.
Request forms use AJAX. If submission fails, the issue is usually permissions, expired order key, missing reason, attachment validation, or a frontend JavaScript conflict.
Check Required Fields
Make sure the customer selected or entered a reason. For returns, also check resolution and attachment requirements if those options are enabled.
Check Customer Access
Logged-in customers can submit requests for their own orders. Guest requests require a valid order key from the order link.
Check Attachment Settings
If attachments are enabled, make sure the file type is allowed and the number of files does not exceed the configured limit.
Check Browser Console and Theme Conflicts
If the popup opens but submit does nothing, test with a default theme or disable frontend optimization/minification temporarily.
Check Order Notes
A successful request adds order meta and usually an order note. If no note appears, the request likely did not reach the server.
