Update or Migrate to Yo Booking 2.0.0 Safely

Version 2.0.0 uses versioned database migrations and a substantially expanded settings and operations model. Treat an update from 1.x as a staged migration, not a routine visual refresh.

Open the feature

Go to Dashboard > Updates.

Before you start

• Back up the complete database and record the current booking and portal page URLs.
• Record representative services, staff, schedules, appointments, emails, and customer workflows.
• Test the update on a production clone first.

Recommended workflow

1. Update to the official 2.0.0 package.
2. Open Yo Booking > Settings > General and verify Plugin version, Schema version, and Managed tables.
3. Review services, categories, staff assignments, customers, availability, and settings.
4. Verify payment, notification, privacy, integration, and maintenance defaults before enabling them.
5. Submit guest and signed-in bookings, then test reschedule, cancellation, calendar, reports, and emails.
6. Confirm cron jobs, Site Health, and rollback backups before updating production.

What success looks like

• Existing operational records remain available and new 2.0.0 features use valid defaults.
• Public booking and self-service workflows pass the staging acceptance test.

Important notes

• Do not enable Remove all data on uninstall during an upgrade.
• Use the product changelog as the canonical release history and keep Docs focused on current operation.
