Use Product Groups, Tags, and Attributes for Splitting
Use product groups, tags, and attributes to decide how WooCommerce orders should be split into separate fulfillment workflows.
Product data makes order splitting predictable. Instead of deciding item by item, you can tell the plugin which products, tags, or attributes define separate order groups.
Set Product Groups
- Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Orders → General.
- Find Product group.
- Search for products that should be treated as a group.
- Save changes.
Use product groups when a fixed set of products should be processed separately from the rest of the order.
Set Product Tags
- Create product tags in Products → Tags if they do not exist yet.
- Assign tags to products.
- Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Orders → General.
- Select the tags under Product tags.
- Click Order status option if you need a different status per tag.
You can also choose which product tag should stay in the original order. Items without selected tags fall back to the default split order status.
Set Product Attributes
Select one product attribute under Product attribute. The plugin can then split orders based on the value of that attribute.
Practical Example
If your store sells custom-made and ready-to-ship products, tag custom-made products as Made to order. Then split by tag so the ready-to-ship items can be handled separately.

After defining product groups, use them in Configure Automatic Order Splitting to reduce manual order work.
