Legacy release note: This checklist covers WooCommerce Extended Stock Status 1.5.0, the product now named WooCommerce Stock Manager. Use the current update guide for modern releases.
Version 1.5.0 adds Stock Campaigns, checkout-time order item snapshots, delay notices, HPOS compatibility declaration, and broader smoke coverage. Use this checklist after updating from an older version.
Campaign Dashboard
- Open Stock Manager > Inventory > Incoming stock.
- Confirm active preorder and backorder products appear.
- Check active campaigns, open orders, reserved units, reserved revenue, overdue campaigns, and delay notices due.
- Test filters for preorder, backorder, due in 7 days, overdue, and delay notices due.
Order Snapshots
- Place a new preorder or backorder test order.
- Open the order admin screen.
- Confirm the Extended stock snapshots panel appears in the order items table.
- Change the product available date and confirm the Change column updates on the order.
Checkout and Blocks
- Test a mixed cart in classic checkout if your store uses classic checkout.
- Test a mixed cart in Blocks checkout if your store uses Checkout Block.
- Confirm customer delivery choice is saved on the order.
- Confirm variation preorder/backorder products are detected correctly.
HPOS, Shipping, and Cron
- If HPOS is enabled, confirm order list filters still identify preorder/backorder orders.
- Confirm all-at-once delivery removes current and legacy preorder/backorder shipping lines correctly.
- Confirm deactivation clears scheduled availability update events when testing on staging.
- Confirm auto-update dates use the site timezone.
PDF and Email Output
- Generate an invoice or packing slip and confirm preorder/backorder labels use order item snapshots.
- Move a product available date later and send a delay notice from Stock Campaigns.
- Confirm the order note and customer email match the affected order.
