Free vs Premium: Which Version Do You Need?

Blacklist Manager is split into two plugins: the free core plugin and Blacklist Manager Premium. Premium is an add-on, so the free core plugin must stay installed and active.

Use The Free Core Plugin If You Need

• Manual email and phone blocklist checks at checkout.
• IP address blocking with limited action protection.
• Email domain blocking, such as blocking orders from a known disposable or abusive domain.
• Registration blocking for blocked emails, IPs, or domains.
• Comment and review blocking for blocked emails.
• Supported form protection for Contact Form 7, Gravity Forms, and WPForms based on blocked emails or phones.
• Email verification during checkout.
• Phone verification during checkout when an SMS service is configured.
• WooCommerce REST API order protection.

Use Premium If You Need

• Device identity tracking and device-level blocking.
• Customer name and address blocking.
• Proxy, VPN, TOR, hosting IP, or country/region checks.
• Disposable email and disposable phone checks through external services.
• Automation rules that can email you, add a customer to suspects, add a customer to blocklist, or treat the rule as a score.
• Order risk scoring and risk thresholds.
• Anti-bot checkout protection with Balanced, Strict, or Custom modes.
• Payment checks for Stripe, PayPal, WooPayments, Braintree, Mollie, and related gateway data.

Simple Decision Guide

Safe Upgrade Path

1. Keep your current free settings active.
2. Install and activate Premium.
3. Activate the Premium license.
4. Open Blacklist Manager > Settings and review the new tabs.
5. Enable Premium rules one group at a time. Start with monitoring actions such as Email alert or Add to suspects.
6. Move to Add to blocklist only after the rule has produced reliable results.

Expected Result

You should know whether the free plugin is enough for your store, or whether Premium is needed because your fraud pattern depends on device, address, payment, automation, or anti-bot signals.
